About me
Recently, I completed a coding Traineeship as a full-stack developer, successfully devoloping and deploying two projects to specification using a variety of programming languages and frameworks.
Through the course I was able to confidently navigate a variety of technologies including advanced protocols such as OAuth2 and Rest APIs.
I look forward to gaining further professional experience to establish my-self as an efficent and relaiable team member as well as to keep learning new technologies.

Portfolio Project #1: “Gazetteer”
Develop a map-based application in HTML, CSS, JavaScript (jQuery) and Bootstrap presenting geographical and demographic data from JSON returned by PHP modules that query third-party APIs such as GeoNames and OpenWeather.
Portfolio Project #2: “Company Directory”
Full project cycle: Formal proposal followed by the development of a company personnel database application using Bootstrap, JavaScript (jQuery), PHP and MySQL. Sign off obtained after demonstrating that all of the required functionality was present and working as intended through the preparation of a formal test script. |

Project Description
This project makes extensive use of third-party APIs that can be queried to fetch data about geographical locations and countries. The app offers a general overview of a selected country and displays the location of key features (capital, the main city of each country region, airports and ports).
Countries can be selected either by clicking directly on the map or using the provided dropdown menu. The app also, provides an exchange calculator for any local currency toward any world currency of choice, an overview of local news and a weather report for the capital city.
The map interface is built with Leaflet.js, a brilliant open source javascript library that lets developers easily create tile-based maps which hold geolocation data for any given point. This feature allows a straightforward method to overlay relevant data both in the form of simple markers and vector graphics.
The app also uses the leaflet plugin 'marker-cluster', which enables grouping nearby markers.

Project Description
This project is a fully functional multi-user content management system. It allows users to remotely read, add, update and delete data from a live MariaDB database server. The app presents a sample company directory with employees grouped into departments and dislocated at different locations.
The relational database ensures that changes to the state of the personnel are dynamically tracked. The front end reinforces data integrity by throwing a warning whenever the user tries to perform a forbidden action. The app also offers a 'search all data' filter based on user type input and the ability to filter personnel by department or location.
The front end is built with jQuery and Bootstrap while the back-end is managed with PHP. Lastly, the Company Directory implements a simple loader to alert the user whenever data is being fetched.
